Not very creative or special, but totally functional. I also love handmade quilts and lap blankets.

I took a brief blogging timeout for about a month. I needed to refocus my life and myself. I needed to concentrate my time on my kids (all 25 of them) and pray that I'm making those last few bits of difference in their lives before the school year winds down.

I miss you, friend. I want to come see your babies soon. I'm getting that itch...

KateDecker Digital Designhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15673886800167952545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1102805489921646330.post-89962847607605703832011-05-04T07:19:43.517-04:002011-05-04T07:19:43.517-04:00I'm sure whatever you gift will be lovely. xI'm sure whatever you gift will be lovely. xVickyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03404795780122015039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1102805489921646330.post-79110420518622321872011-05-01T10:01:59.316-04:002011-05-01T10:01:59.316-04:00We asked for money for our honeymoon, so everybody...We asked for money for our honeymoon, so everybody contributed to our memories that way.

We also got a gift card for a department store from my colleagues, and the best thing I think we bought with that was a salad spinner. I use it a lot!

One of my mom's friends made us a really kitschy candle, with a wax bridal couple and a wax chapel, placed on some fake lawn. Even though I think it looks quite - how shall I put it - "unique", I know how much time she spent making it and thought it was a really special gift. I don't think you can go wrong with giving something handmade, as your work & thoughtfulness will be appreciated for sure!Annikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06061208538689914487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1102805489921646330.post-62243816319635973352011-04-30T13:47:44.307-04:002011-04-30T13:47:44.307-04:00We had a small wedding, so we didn't have hard...We had a small wedding, so we didn't have hardly any gifts. Just the presence of our family and close friends was what we wanted. The gift I'll never forget is one from Mark. It was a huge, gastly Spanish painting of a matador with his tight butt and red cape with lots of gold tones in the outfit. He wrote a hand written card on a piece of scrap paper that said something along the lines of: When you're having a rough time, remember to grab life by the balls...or horns? And hold tight!! It was sweet, but the painting was terrible. Things from the heart and that are handmade are the best gifts you can give. Maybe something they can plant in their yard as rememberance of their wedding day; like a little tree of some sort would be a good idea?Jamie Pikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17856397254105596532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1102805489921646330.post-48882445922824447722011-04-29T22:03:24.233-04:002011-04-29T22:03:24.233-04:00It's been 5 years since my wedding and I still...It's been 5 years since my wedding and I still remember who gave me most things. Every time I used the trivets, the silverware... everything I know who got it for me. Any gift is a thoughtful one, for sure!!Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11475034623757454519noreply@blogger.com
